Commercial Officer

Pershore Area – 22.5 hours per week (negotiable)

Due to recent and expected increases in our levels of business, we are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and skilled person to provide project support to our Programme and Commercial Departments, where no two days are the same.

You will be responsible for managing a variety of commercial activities across the business, working with the existing team to deliver multiple projects for a wide range of Customers on high value defence projects.

Some of the main duties of the Commercial Officer will include:

  • Support the timely submission of bids and proposals ensuring commercial integrity and compliance with all applicable company policies, processes and legislation with specific responsibility for responding to the commercial requirements.
  • Contract formalisation; creating and issuing contracts to send to suppliers for signature after tender award and formal acceptance stage (obtaining and checking internal approvals).
  • Process requests for contract variations via the use of a change control process; create letters or formal documentation for contract termination, extension and remediation.
  • Present commercial aspects of proposals and contracts at internal bid reviews and contract launches, to all levels of seniority, ensuring that the contractual obligations are known, understood and are being addressed.
  • Support drafting and review of agreements including, but not limited to NDAs, MoUs, LTAs, Framework Agreements, IP Provisions.
  • General administrative duties including photocopying, scanning, minute taking, arranging meetings and updating appropriate tracking spread sheets.
  • Support the development and negotiation of flow down of terms and conditions to Suppliers.
  • Deal with stakeholder feedback and ensure this is communicated to the relevant departments within Malvern Optical, in conjunction with the Quality Manager.
  • Management of commercial documents, creating new records for contracts and services against the Malvern Optical Quality Processes.
  • Export/Import Regulations and Compliance, including management of ITAR requirements within Malvern Optical and to/from other external stakeholders.

The post will require the successful candidate to be willing to undertake occasional travel within the UK or abroad in support of project or business activities and to occasionally work outside of normal working hours.

In return we offer a salary in the region of £23k – £26k per annum (negotiable, subject to qualifications and skill set), 25 days holiday (pro-rata) plus bank holidays, overtime potential, profit share and a generous contributory pension scheme.
