Malvern Optical has extensive facilities to design, process and handle novel materials fabrication on a small scale.
This specialism in materials formulation has allowed us to provide prototype samples for evaluation.
Working with our Academic and Industry Partners allows us to then scale-up production for larger volume manufacturing and supply.
We are able to develop paints, films and coatings with multiple functional properties and appearance for a range of applications, taking into account any constraining requirements from the Customer.
Our on-site materials characterisation facility allows us to verify production and iterate designs in a timely manner.
Utilising 3D printing technologies we can produce complete prototypes.
Our materials fabrication facility includes fume cabinets for materials synthesis, high temperature furnaces, mixers, film presses, vacuum coating, and 3D printing capabilities.
These are complimented by a range of materials assessment tools for quality control, such as adhesion testing or gloss.
